Bachelor of Plant Protection (BPP) study program was established in 1985 based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education No. 22/DIKTI/KEP/1985 and the current of the name of the study program is based on the Decree of the Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada No. 1718/UNI.P/SK/HUKOR/2017. BPP had an accreditation score A (excellent) given by The National Accreditation Board (BAN PT).
The academic year of the study program starts in August and ends in June every year and is devided into 2 semester (odd semester starts in August until December and even semester starts in February until June). The curriculum in BPP is designed to be completed in 8 semesters (4 years). The courses consist of compulsory and elective courses. Students have to take courses with minimum of 144 credits (SKS), which is equivalent to 233.1 ECTS. The amount of the credits is obtained from lectures, practical works, field work, community services (KKN) and thesis.
Lectures are scheduled from Monday to Friday starting from 7 am until 5 pm. In one semester, a lecture consists of 16 sessions in which 14 are for face to face meetings, 1 is for midterm exam and 1 is for final exam.
Students are accompanied by a college adviser (DPA) determined by the study program to support their success of the study. College adviser is obliged to give input in determining the courses that will be taken by students in accordance with their interests. College adviser is also obliged to help students in non-academic matters such as personal problems that affect their academic performance, participation in research, scientific paper competition, and employment opportunities.
